Created in 1853 by Pierre-Fran?ois-Pascal Guerlain, L'Eau de Cologne Imp?riale is the very first Guerlain Eau de Cologne. Composed especially for the Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III, it earned its creator the title of \"Patented Perfumer of Her Majesty\". The Empress kept the exclusivity of it a few years before giving her agreement to its marketing.
It bears on its label the symbol of the Empire, displaying the coat of arms chosen by Napoleon; the eagle, the imperial crown and the scepter.

Its bottle, studded with 69 bees symbolizing the Empire, is characteristic of the Guerlain Colognes family. It can be personalized to order, hand-decorated in fine gold and signed with initials.
