L'Originale Violette de Toulouse Eau de Toilette
Back in 1936, Toulouse perfumer Henri Berdoues encapsulated the violet's scent for the first time.
He packed this unique creation in a hat box, added a poem and gave it to his sweetheart.
L'Originale Violette de Toulouse Eau de Toilette is a compoisition that faithfully replicates the delicate scent of a posy of violets.
The absolute obtained from violet leaves smells fresh, very herbaceous, slightly flowery yet very different from the smell of the flowers we usually smell and is generally made up synthetically.
In addition to providing its notes of freshly mown grass, the absolute of Violet leaves is often used as a nuancer. In other words it supports the main notes of a perfume at the same time as it rounds them out.
The jasmine and rose species are considered to be the two queen flowers of the perfumery world for their heady fragrance. There are over 200 species of jasmine grown and approximately seven million flowers go into making a kilogramme of absolute essence.
Originally Musk was a natural animal ingredient used when formulating perfumes. In former times it was extracted from the abdominal glands of the musk deer from Central Asia. Nowadays, musk is synthesized and is used as a fixative (or base note) in many men's perfumes, and also in oriental or amber perfumes for women.
