Founded in 1643, on the threshold of the reign of Louis XIV, Trudon is the oldest Bougierie in the world still in operation today.
Throughout the 17th century, the factory became the Manufacture Royale de Cire and official supplier to the French court, and later to Napoleon Bonaparte. Trudon was awarded a Gold Medal at the 1889 Exposition Universelle for the exceptional quality of its wax bougies and wax.
