Sweet and fruity, the scent is reminiscent of a rose.
Native to South Africa, the geranium has existed in the wild since antiquity, but has only been cultivated since its arrival in Europe at the end of the 17th century. Today China is the leading producer and exporter of fragrant geraniums.
The cultivation of rose geraniums became important in North Africa and Reunion Island.
